Llywydd y Sir
Dechreuodd CffI Maldwyn y blwyddyn 2020/2021 gyda brwdfrydedd parhaus a rhywfaint o optimistiaeth y byddai pethau’n sicr o fynd yn ôl i normal eleni. Fodd bynnag, gyda niferoedd cynyddol o achosion Covid 19 ledled y wlad wrth i ni symud i mewn i fisoedd y gaeaf, chwalwyd ein gobeithion yn fuan, fodd bynnag, daeth thechnoleg i ein hachub a gwnaethom barhau’n rithriol gyda’r nosweithiau clwb, cyfarfodydd sir ar cystadleuthau. Cafwyd meddwl creadigol a syniadau greddfol gan unigolion a chlybiau ar gyfer gweithgareddau clwb. Ac mae wedi bod mor galonogol i weld yr aelodau’n cymryd rhan â’r her i gystadlu rhithriol. Mae CFfi Maldwyn wedi cael llwyddiant sylweddol mewn ystod o gystadlaethau ar lefel Cymru a Chenedlaethol. Y tro cyntaf I’r sir dal noson trafod NVZ’s ar hustings, roedd rhein werth chweil ac fe’u cefnogwyd yn dda iawn gan aelodau CFfI.
Rydym yn gwerthfawrogi nad oedd y byd rhithiol i bawb, ac mae’n dda i glywed bod y clybiau’n trefnu cyfarfodydd wyneb yn wyneb unwaith eto ac mae nifer yr aelodau sy’n mynychu yn gret. Fel aelodau a chymdeithion, fy ngobaith yw ein bod i gyd yn llwyr werthfawrogi pwysigrwydd a gwerth CFfI yn ein bywydau.
Rwy’n llongyfarch y tîm Swyddogion Sir gan gynnwys Cadeiryddion yr Is-bwyllgorau ac Aelodau Uwch ac Iau y Flwyddyn am eu hymdrech i arwain a chynnal cymhelliant trwy flwyddyn heriol arall eto. Diolch i Ffion Wright Evans, sydd wedi gweithio’n galed ac wedi dod o hyd i ffyrdd cyllid newydd i gefnogi’r aelodau ac sydd wedi rheoli’r ‘last touches’ i Swyddfa Newydd yr CFfI yng Ngwerthiant Da Byw y Trallwng, mae agoriad yn cael ei drefnu ar gyfer yr haf.
Dylai pob un ohonom nawr edrych ymlaen gyda chyffro a phositifrwydd i’r flwyddyn i ddod. Edrychaf ymlaen at ymweld â chlybiau a’ch gweld chi i gyd yn ystod y misoedd nesaf, pan fyddem yn mynd nol i normalrwydd.

Montgomery YFC entered the 2020/2021 Young Farmers year with continued enthusiasm and a degree of optimism that things would surely get back to normal for this year. However, with increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases countrywide as we moved into the winter months our hopes were soon dashed, however with YFC grit and determination technology came to our rescue and we carried on virtually with virtual club nights, county meetings and competitions. There has been real creative thinking and intuitive ideas from individuals and clubs for activities, and it has been so encouraging to see members taking up the challenge to compete virtually. Montgomery YFC has had significant success in a range of competitions at Wales and National level. The NVZ discussion evening and hustings were a first for the County and proved most worthwhile and were very well supported by YFC members.
We appreciate that the virtual world was not for everyone, and it is encouraging to hear that clubs are organising face to face meetings once again and the number of members attending is encouraging. As members and associates it is my hope that we all totally appreciate the importance and value YFC has within our lives.
I congratulate the new look County Officer team including Sub-Committee Chairs and Senior and Junior Members of the Year for their effort in leading and maintaining motivation through yet another challenging year. Thank you to Ffion Wright Evans, who has worked hard and sought new funding streams to support members and has overseen the finishing touches to the new YFC Office space in Welshpool Livestock Sales, a grand opening is being planned for later in the summer.
We should all now look forward with excitement and positivity to the year ahead. I look forward to visiting clubs and seeing you all in the coming months, when hopefully a new normal will resume.
