Elin Lewis

    International Chairman

    Cadeirydd Rhyngwladol

Ffocws y Pwyllgor Rhyngwladol yw i roi cyfle i holl aelodau CFfI Maldwyn i deithio a gwneud ffrindiau newydd, boed hynny yng Nghymru, y Deyrnas Unedig neu ledled y byd. Yn amlwg, mae Covid-19 wedi cael effaith fawr ar deithio ac wedi atal ein haelodau rhag gwneud be maen nhw’n ei garu fwyaf, teithio! Fodd bynnag, nid yw’r flwyddyn i gyd wedi bod yn dynghedu a dywyll.

Ym mis Medi 2020 dechreuon ni obeithiol gyda CFfI Cymru yn cynnal cyfweliadau ar gyfer y rhai oedd dymuno teithio gyda CFfI yn 2021. Roedd aelodau CFfI Maldwyn, ar ôl cael eu cloi tu mewn am fisoedd, allan ac yn meddwl busnes, gyda’r nifer uchaf erioed o 16 ymgeisydd o’r sir a’r unigolion hynny yn hynod o lwyddiannus wrth ennill teithiau ar gyfer 2021.

Yr ymgeiswyr Sir llwyddiannus ar gyfer Rhaglen Ryngwladol Cymru 2021 oedd:

Ifan Huws (Dyffryn Banw) – Llygad Amaeth

Hanna Eiddon Lewis (Bro Ddyfi) – Inter-Railing

Lliwen Jones (Bro Ddyfi) – Inter-Railing

Iwan Lewis (Dyffryn Tanat) – Ynys Manaw

Elin Evans (Bro Ddyfi) – Saffari De Affrica

Elin Lewis (Dyffryn Tanat) – Saffari De Affrica

Greta Roberts (Dyffryn Banw) – Saffari De Affrica

Hannah Lloyd (Dyffryn Tanat) – Saffari De Affrica

Heledd Davies (Bro Ddyfi) – Saffari De Affrica

Lwsi Morgan (Dyffryn Banw) – Saffari De Affrica

Millie Edwards (Dyffryn Tanat) – Saffari De Affrica

Miriam Davies (Bro Ddyfi) – Saffari De Affrica

Sian Emberton (Berriew) – Saffari De Affrica

Yn anffodus, yna gwnaeth CFfI Cymru y penderfyniad anodd i ohirio pob taith tan ddyddiad diweddarach. Er bod yr holl aelodau wedi’u siomi, ar yr ochr arall gyda’r canlyniad hwn, deallwyd yn glir bod y risg yn rhy fawr, a chan edrych yn ôl cafodd y penderfyniad cywir ei wneud!

Fodd bynnag, mae’r pwyllgor wedi cadw’r ‘Travel bug’ yn fyw a heb ganiatáu i’r sefyllfa leddfu’r awydd i deithio gyda CFfI. Bob nos Sul cynhaliodd y pwyllgor gwis bach ar dudalen Instagram y Sir gyda dros 160 o aelodau’n cymryd rhan bob wythnos! Dyma gipolwg ar un o’r cwisiau:

    Ble yn y byd?

    1. Dyma’r wlad hynaf yn Ewrop.
    2. Dyma’r man syrffio mwyaf yn Ewrop.
    3. Roedd person o’r wlad yma y gyntaf i drafeilio’r byd.

Cymerodd y cwisiau difyr yma le cyfarfodydd ac roeddent yn cynnal cysylltiad yr aelodau â’r Pwyllgor Rhyngwladol.

Er gwaethaf hyn oll, rydym ni fel pwyllgor yn edrych ymlaen yn eiddgar at y flwyddyn sydd i ddod gyda gobaith y bydd ein haelodau yn trafeilio ledled y lle, yn cael anturiaethau newydd, yn gwneud atgofion newydd a ffrindiau oes!

    Dyma i 2021-22!

The focus of the International Committee is centred around giving all YFC members of the county an opportunity to travel and make new friends, whether that is within Wales, the United Kingdom or worldwide. Obviously, Covid-19 has had a major impact on travel and prevented our members doing what they love most, travelling! However, the year has not all been doom and gloom.

In September 2020 we started out hopeful with Wales YFC holding interviews for those wishing to travel with YFC in 2021. Montgomery YFC members, after being cooped up for so long, were out in force, with a record number of 16 applicants and those individuals being highly successful in gaining trips for 2021.

The successful County applicants for the Wales International Programme 2021 were:

Ifan Huws (Dyffryn Banw) – Agri ‘I’

Hanna Eiddon Lewis (Bro Ddyfi) – Inter-Railing

Lliwen Jones (Bro Ddyfi) – Inter-Railing

Iwan Lewis (Dyffryn Tanat) – Isle of Man

Elin Evans (Bro Ddyfi) – South Africa Safari

Elin Lewis (Dyffryn Tanat) – South Africa Safari

Greta Roberts (Dyffryn Banw) – South Africa Safari

Hannah Lloyd (Dyffryn Tanat) – South Africa Safari

Heledd Davies (Bro Ddyfi) – South Africa Safari

Lwsi Morgan (Dyffryn Banw) – South Africa Safari

Millie Edwards (Dyffryn Tanat) – South Africa Safari

Miriam Davies (Bro Ddyfi) – South Africa Safari

Sian Emberton (Berriew) – South Africa Safari

Unfortunately, Wales YFC then made the difficult decision to postpone all trips until a later date. Whilst all members were bitterly disappointed with this outcome, it was clearly understood that the risk was too great, and with hindsight the correct decision was made!

However, the committee has kept the ‘travel bug’ alive and not allowed the situation to dampen the desire for travel with YFC.  Every Sunday evening the committee hosted a mini quiz on the County Instagram page with over 160 members participating each week! Here’s a glimpse of one of the quizzes:

    Where in the world?

    1. This county is the oldest in Europe.
    2. This is the biggest surf spot in Europe.
    3. A person from this country was the first to travel around the world.

These entertaining quizzes took the place of meetings and maintained members connection to the International Committee.

Despite all this, we as a committee are eagerly looking forward to the year ahead with hope that our members will be scooting all over the place, having new adventures, making new memories and new lifelong friends!

    Here’s to 2021-22!
